Learning chords, scales and the circle of fifths may all be necessary in becoming an accomplished player, but IMHO it’s not nearly as much fun as jammin’ with a band. While much can be said (pro and con) about the practice value of playing along with your favorite artists, we now have the technology to take that up a level. With Jammit, you first learn your part just as it is on the original multi-track recording, then remove that track and play it live. Jammit provides tablature and music notation and you can loop parts to play repetitively until you get ‘em down pat. In this brief video I shot at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim, CA, Paul Arsenault from Jammit, shows just how this works. By the way, their Web site is jammit.com
