NAMM 2013 was about innovation and anticipation (of a hopefully improving economy). That said, here’s my list favorites from the show floor at NAMM 2013, not in any particular order.

The big news at Presonus is the 32.4.2A1 StudioLive digital mixer. The extra channels were not a surprise but the bells and whistles this new mixer is loaded with will definitely rock you. (Also see PreSonus, Behringer, Mackie Expand Popular Mixer Lines)

Presonus also showed up with a line of super powerful active speakers.  2000watts per box, coaxial design, serious on board processing and iPad friendly.

Next I came across Holophone microphones. Holophone is known for multi-channel surround mics but they have now introduced a line of single channel handheld supercardioid condenser mics, The Super C, that look cool and sound great.

FBT let us check out their new Vertus column line arrays and subs. The narrow powered columns are loaded with 500 watts and the subs with 600. But the system is scalable so you can use multiple tops and subs and they come in white—Perfect for churches.

Berhringer/Midas has expanded their X32 line and now they have the X32 Producer, X32 Core, X32 Rack and the X32 Compact. They are obviously on a roll. (Also see PreSonus, Behringer, Mackie Expand Popular Mixer Lines)

We are all interested in preserving our hearing but ear good ear protection can be expensive. However I found Mack’s Ear Plugs. These are $15 dollar ear filters with a noise reduction of 12dB while maintaining really good quality full range sound. That’s it. Those are my picks for this year’s NAMM.
