Asheville, NC, is the hometown of Bob Moog, the revolutionary engineer who laid the groundwork for many of today’s modern synthesizers and, of course, the renowned Moog brand, meaning that there’s no better time to visit the city—a place many synth nerds and analog-obsessed producers consider a sort of sacred land—than the two-day festival. Of course, Moogfest is also a gathering that celebrates diversity and creativity in music, which is a big part of why we elected to make the pilgrimage ourselves last weekend. Here’s an accounting of what we saw. (courtesy: xlr8r.com)
