DJ Times Magazine has been sponsoring this EXPO for 21 years and it has become the place where DJ’s of all experience levels can gain knowledge, exchange ideas, network with industry peers, and have a first look at cutting-edge gear, gadgets and gizmos.

Among the topics discussed this year were the latest techniques for marketing a DJ business, surviving in a tough economy, the secrets of being an MC, music mixing workshops, and even how to profit from laser light shows.

New technologies were on display (and for sale), such as a sleek new translucent DJ touchscreen console (see video below), Laser and other catchy and entertaining lighting, music and video services available by both traditional media and digital download, and, of course, essential DJ tools.  One vendor was offering to “pimp” your turntables.

The nightlife included an opening night live demonstration of interactive DJ dances & contests, the nation’s finest DJ’s spinning video shows on state-of-the-art equipment, and a concert of enormous proportions featuring an lineup of breaking artists and accomplished performers which this year included former American Idol contestants Kimberly Locke and Blake Lewis, remixer/producers Jumpsmokerz, dance diva legent Crystal Waters, and modern hip-pop artists Iyaz, Jason DeRulo, and 50cent. The event opened 8/8 and closes 8/11.
