The rumors you’ve been hearing are true. After so many requests from dedicated Ampeg fans, Ampeg is proud to announce the Heritage B-15.
The Heritage B-15 is a legit, hand-built and hand-wired amp built here in the USA by renowned amp builder George Metropolous and his team out in Burton, Michigan. The project has been consulted closely by Jess Oliver, inventor of the original B-15. A limited run of 50 units is planned and all will be available for sale starting January 13, 2011 on a first-come / first serve basis – no pre-sale. The Heritage B-15 is not a “re-issue” — It is truly inspired by the 1964 B-15NC and 1966 B-15NF. These are two distinct circuit paths, each with their own Baxandall tone stack.
The speaker was custom-designed by Eminence— a robust design with a massive 109oz ceramic magnet and a 4-inch voice coil and aluminum dust cover.
This is just the first up-close look. We will be releasing more details over the next couple of months, leading up to the official launch at Winter NAMM 2011.
