It may just be another case of "15 Minutes of Fame," but before walking out on stage to audition for "Britain’s Got Talent," Ms. Susan Boyle was about as dowdy a plain Jane as anybody could be. So much so that the audience, as well the judges (Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden) could not hold back their laughter.

In the opening interview, Ms. Boyle revealed the most dissinteresting facts about herself, how she had never been kissed and how she lives alone with her cat, Pebbles. For those reasons, and more, the audience was fully expecting a female William Hung. But look who’s laughing now. Instead of becoming remembered as yet another no talent clueless loser, Susan Boyle’s performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables has made her an overnight Web phenomenon. The performance brought the audience to its feet and left the judges (including Simon) either speechless or in tears. Yahoo reports that lookups for the sudden star quickly surged into the top 5,000 overall searches. The Mirror jumped on the story and, while reporting that they thought Ms. Boyle "looked like a garage" on TV," she received a standing ovation when she showed up at her local church. At 47 years old, it could be her professional singing career is finally getting the boot it deserves – she’s already meeting with officials from Mr. Cowell’s Sony BMG label. This may have been the first you’ve heard of her, but it certainly won’t be the last. You can watch her performance below…
