Metal Rockers ANVIL to perform at NAMM 2013
There’s no shortage of things to do at NAMM ’13, but the band ANVIL’s scheduled performance at the Bugera Amplifier Lounge (Hall B, Booth 5740 at 2:30 on Saturday, Jan. 26) is creating substantial buzz.
(read the official press release here.)
ANVIL, the influential metal band with fourteen albums under their belt, has inspired many other notable heavy rockers including Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica. They were also the subject of the aptly named 2008 documentary film “ANVIL! The Story of ANVIL” which was directed by screenwriter and former ANVIL roadie Sacha Gervasi.
The film, and the band, became the subject of Rolling Stone Magazine article which feature the film’s title along with the sub-title “The Year’s Great Rock Movie?”
Anvil: (L-R) Robb Reiner, Steve Kudlow and Sal Italian
ANVIL’s founding members, singer/guitarist Steve “Lips” Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner who are predominately featured in the film, will also be signing autographs immediately after the performance.
The show’s location at the Bugera booth is more than coincidental. Dan Gallagher, VP Instrument Amplification Division – MUSIC Group, announce that Kudlow has been signed to a Bugera Amplifiers endorsement deal…the first of 2013, stating “He’s a rock legend, a great human being, and the perfect front man for our product line.”
